| Adopt a Family |

|
Each year, Qwest Pioneers and employees combine efforts for a Christmas outreach program for families in need in Denver, Colorado.
On average, 375 people are provided Christmas gifts and neccesities. All are invited to help out on this, whether by being a building elf (collecting gifts in your building), a wrapper elf (wrapping all the collected gifts), or a sleigh driver (delivery to the distribution location)!
| Christmas Stockings |

|
Each year, Christmas Council Members, along with Qwest employees, buy a Christmas stocking and stuff their stockings with toys, candy, and gifts for children in need. The Council, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, distributes the stockings.
See the Event Photos page for the 2006 Cut-n-Sew event!
Easter Egg Hunt for Visually Impaired Children |

|
During the Easter season each year, Council Members, along with other volunteers, organize an Easter Egg Hunt for visually impaired children, which feature beeping eggs. The Pioneer clown is also present along with a face painter to enhance the fun.
Established in 1979, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver works in partnership with the candidate family and volunteers to build decent, affordable homes. Qualified families purchase the Habitat homes with sweat equity and zero-interest loans and make mortgage payments based on 25 percent of the family’s incomes. Mortgage payments are reinvested into the program to fund future construction.
| Mother's Day Flowers |

|
Every Mother's Day, the Pioneers pay for and distribute flowers to elderly residents of several nursing homes in the Denver metro area.
| MS150 Bicycle Ride |

|
The Pioneers set up and staff a rest stop for this weekend event, providing refreshment to bicyclists who ride 2 days and 150 miles, raising money for Multiple Sclerosis research. Pioneers provided energy bars, fruit, Powerade, water, and encouragement to the almost 2000 riders from all walks of life and fitness levels who participate in this event each summer.
The Pioneers work with Neighborhood Partners, a nonprofit organization which utilizes volunteer labor to further its cause of making affordable home ownership available to low income buyers. Since 1977 NP has focused its resources primarily on the neighborhoods of Denver, attempting to preserve the architectural integrity of the neighborhoods in which it builds.
| Senior Support Services Center |

|
Most of the elderly men and women helped by Senior Support Services live on incomes below the poverty level and many also lack a family support system. Auraria Council periodically hosts a gathering at the center featuring food, gift sacks, and birthday packages containing items such as clothing and blankets. The center is located at 846 East 18th Ave. in Denver.
| Wilderness on Wheels |

|
The Pioneers periodically travel to south central Colorado to donate time and labor towards wilderness construction of such things as a mile-long boardwalk in the pristine wilds of Colorado. Pioneers haul lumber, cut wood, and hammer nails as part of the effort to build scenic handicap-accessible structures.
