Welcome to the Auraria Council of TelecomPioneers

The Auraria Council of Qwest TelecomPioneers is committed to providing rewarding community service experiences for members, fellow employees, and Pioneer partners. We continue to "answer the call of those in need" within our communities while at the same time increasing team building skills, and promoting the spirit of volunteerism within our employee base. Auraria Council is comprised of current Qwest Communications employees based in the Denver Metro area of Colorado.

Our project list is continuously evolving and currently includes such things as Give A Day at Wilderness on Wheels, Christmas Outreach with Adopt a Family and Christmas Stockings, sponsorship of a rest stop on the MS150 Ride, Read to Me Layettes for pregnancy centers, School Aid to Denver area elementary schools, Easter Egg Hunt for blind and visually impaired children, Adopt a Room at the Brandon Center for Domestic Abuse, Urban Renewal with Neighborhood Partners, Habitat for Humanity, Miles for Miracles, Denver Day of Impact with Metro Volunteers, Mother's Day Flower Distribution to Senior Centers, Quarterly visits to the Senior Support Center, and Adopt a Street cleanups. As much as we welcome new members to join the Pioneers, we also welcome new projects…perhaps one you are already involved with or a non-profit entity with which you have been working. Please feel free to submit your thoughts and ideas to Debra Alvarado.

Monthly Meetings

The Auraria Council meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month and anyone is invited to attend. The Council and Project Leaders plan for upcoming events as well as discuss ideas for new projects and we would love to hear from you. The meetings start at 5:30 and are 90 minutes or less in length. Contact Debra Alvarado for the meeting location and/or conference bridge number. Bring your ideas! Bring you energy!
