GREETINGS TO ALL IOWA QWEST PIONEERS, PARTNERS & FRIENDS

Happy 2008 to all of our Qwest Pioneers near and far. As I write this article, we are up to our eye balls in snow and eager to see this white stuff and the cold weather be history.
When this "Hawkeye Happenings" comes out, we will be anxious to read what all of our Iowa Pioneer groups have done and plan to accomplish in 2008. Hopefully our volunteer hours for the year will reflect the value of your good deeds.

The 2008 TelecomPioneer annual meeting will be in Austin, Texas February 28th - March 1st, 2008. Frank and I, Ina Mae and Eric Wienola will be the Iowa delegates. This is where 300 or more Pioneers from all over the United States and Canada meet, share our accomplishments, and network with others to obtain new ideas.

The theme for this year is "PIONEER U" and is to be a learning experience for all. Getting into the "school spirit" an old fashioned "pep rally" is planned for Thursday night. Friday, February 29th, is orientation, freshmen fundamentals and a lucky strike luncheon. In the evening the Qwest delegates will go on the Lone Star Riverboat Cruise. A note was included to bring a sweater/jacket in case it is cool.....HA! after the zero temps we have had !

Saturday starts with an honor society breakfast, break-out sessions in the morning and afternoon, class of 2008 commencement and group meetings. Saturday evening, when "school is out," a TOGA party is planned. (No toga, thank you.)

Fun, yes, but this annual meeting will be filled with learning, sharing, renewing past friendships and making new ones. We will bring back new materials for you and share them when we recover from all of this activity.

Thank you for the opportunity to represent all of you at such a special meeting as this. We wish you could be with us. We are taking an empty suitcase to bring back nice weather from Texas! Wish us well.

Have a wonderful Pioneer year and our prayers are with you.

Sincerely,

 Barbara Edmunds
