Our Christmas party was held at the Nishna Valley Café in Shenandoah; nineteen persons attended. We collected $150 toward the “Adopt a Family” project we do each Christmas season. The funds were used to buy food, clothes, and presents for the family, especially the children.
Our group continues to meet at various times and locations. Meetings are held on either the fourth Monday or Tuesday of each month, at noon or in the evening, depending on the month. Meetings switch between Shenandoah and Red Oak, and only occasionally to Clarinda. Attendance ranges from five or six to fifteen or so persons, depending on time, month and location.
Fellowship is our main purpose though some members and partners do volunteer work. For example, at the hospital, at the nursing home and at the bloodmobile.
