Burlington/Clinton

Burlington Pioneers continue with monthly breakfasts, except in December, at 9:00

a m on first Thursdays. The breakfasts are held at Laura’s Restaurant in Burlington. For further information, call Janet Stadtlander at 319-752-6241.

Clinton Pioneers have an 11:30 a m luncheon meeting every second Thursday of the month; locations vary. Alice Pringle notifies members about meetings and locations. Alice can be reached at

563-242-5422.

Davenport

Our Christmas party was well attended and a good time was had by all.

Davenport Pioneers continue with 9:00 a m breakfast meetings at Hickory Gardens on the first Thursday of each month. Attendance remains good at our monthly meetings; thirty to thirty-five usually come. Many members are very faithful in coming. We all enjoy visiting at the breakfasts; this gives us the opportunity to catch up on the latest news.

Davenport Pioneers continue to volunteer at the following: C.A.S.I.; Jefferson-Edison School (we are partners in education there); and the Wapsi Environmental Center, to name just a few. I would like to remind everyone to please remember to report volunteer hours to Nora Mess. Nora deserves a big thank-you for doing this job.

Davenport 21 Club met for lunch on February 16th at Steeplegate; there were forty present. The meeting was enjoyed by everyone. The group meets every other month, except December, on the third Saturday. In December the club meets on the second Saturday. The day’s hostess chooses the meeting location.

We have contributed to food pantries, to St Vincent de Paul in Burlington, to C.A.S.I, to the Red Cross, and we have donated school supplies and warm winter wear to Jefferson-Edison School.
